Wrong-Way Crash on Loop 101 Leaves One Dead, Two Hurt

PHOENIX, AZ – A woman was killed and two other people were injured in a wrong-way collision on Loop 101 in the West Valley early Monday morning.

According to 12 News, the collision occurred at about 12:40 a.m. when a car traveling south in the northbound HOV lane near collided with another car near the exit to Cardinals Way.

Two women in the southbound vehicle were rushed to an area hospital for treatment. The passenger was pronounced dead a short time later while the driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The other driver involved sustained minor injuries.

The identities of those involved are being withheld pending further investigation.
