- Arizona Rollover Accident Leaves One Dead, Six Injured | Legal News | News Ticker
SUV’s were the top-selling model of vehicle in the United States for several years, as consumers purchased these vehicles to get the best of both worlds – the comfortable ride offered by a sedan and the power and safety provided by larger vehicles. Unfortunately, as more SUV’s hit the roads, problems in regards to driving them began to arise, specifically their tendency to roll over. Tragically, that issue has arisen again as an Arizona SUV rollover accident has led to the death of one person and to the injuries of six others.
According to police, this Arizona SUV rollover accident occurred just before 5 p.m. yesterday on Interstate 19 near KM marker 46 near Arivaca Road near Nogales. For reasons that have yet to be determined, the driver lost control of the vehicle on the road and rolled into the center median. One female passenger was killed and six others, including the driver, were injured badly enough to need to be rushed to a hospital in Tucson. Police have not released the names of those involved pending family notifications.
Arizona Car Accident Statistics
First, we’d like to offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the woman who was killed. We also hope that those six people who were injured are able to overcome the harm they have suffered. In addition, this Arizona SUV rollover accident will now become part of the overall statistics regarding Arizona car accidents. Every year, more than 65,000 people are injured and more than 1,000 people are killed in these occurrences, and estimates indicate that SUV’s are more than 30 times more likely to roll over than other vehicles.
Arizona Car Accident Lawyers
While more would need to be learned regarding why the driver lost control of the vehicle, it’s possible that several legal claims could be made in response to this accident. Those passengers who were injured could file Arizona personal injury lawsuits, and the family of the passenger who was killed could file an Arizona wrongful death lawsuit. If these claims are filed and are successful, it could lead to damages awards that compensate those who have been harmed for the losses they have incurred.
